ESI Marketing Communications is pleased to announce a winner has been chosen in the Complete Nutrition Weight No More Wellness Challenge. The twelve week weight loss competition, sponsored by nutritional supplement retailer Complete Nutrition, was announced by Mayor Jim Suttle in a press conference at Omahas City Hall. Mayor Suttle also issued a Mayoral Proclamation naming January 10, 2012, Complete Nutrition Weight No More Wellness Challenge Day in the city.
Mayor Suttle and Complete Nutrition participated in the event in order to call attention to a serious problem for American businesses. According to a recent Gallup poll US companies lose more than$ 153 billion each year due to obesity and health/weight related issues. Employers are eager to assist their employees to embrace a healthy lifestyle for both productivity and personal reasons and Complete Nutrition offers companies strategies for employees to achieve their wellness goals.
ESI Marketing Communications organized the event in conjunction with Deb Gray, a professional trainer and consultant to Complete Nutrition. Fifteen companies were chosen to participate in the competition and each fielded a team committed to helping their team lose the most weight by percentage throughout the challenge.
Consultants from Complete Nutrition worked with the teams providing advice on healthy diet, exercise, hydration and supplements to make the weight loss process both safe and effective. Consultants also conducted Lunch & Learn meetings at participating companies under the auspices of their human resource departments.
Representatives from Complete Nutrition visited each participating company and conducted an initial weigh-in to capture an accurate weight for each contestant. Then, each week, team members reported their progress to a special website set up by ESI to monitor their progress. At the end of twelve weeks, the team members were weighed a final time and the winners calculated.
First place went to Behaven Kids which offers a range of behavioral health services that give all children and families hope and help, including the Specialized Day Program, counseling, child behavior coaching, training/workshops, parenting books and more. The 18 member Behaven Kids team lost over 313 pounds with an impressive 8.6% weight loss by percentage. The City of Omaha finished second and Buffet Middle School, third.
An awards ceremony and press event was produced by ESI Marketing Communications at an Omaha area Complete Nutrition store where trophies were awarded and comments were made by the Mayor as well as executives of Complete Nutrition including president Ryan Zink.
A $ 5,000 contribution was made by Complete Nutrition to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation juvenile obesity prevention charity in the name of the first place winner Behaven Kids.
ESI Marketing Communications produced the Omaha event for Complete Nutrition, which is considering offering it nationally to its network of franchisees.
